Hull City have ruled out any further bids for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
The Tigers have made an unsuccessful £4.5million offer for the 25-year old talisman as they seek a quality goalscorer for life in the Premier League but manager Steve Bruce says they will not return to the Scottish champions with an improved proposal.
"We had a bid for him rejected and I can't see there being any change in that," said Bruce.
"We've got other irons in the fire and we hope that we can get one or two strikers in before the start of the season.
"It's obvious that we struggled to score goals last season so that has got to be the aim for us.
"We've still got six weeks before the season starts and we're actively looking."
