Hull City boss Mike Phelan has revealed that the club is set to enter contract negotiations with Robert Snodgrass.
The Scotland international is out of contract with the Tigers in the summer and revealed on the weekend that he had head nothing regarding an extension.
But Phelan insists that it is a priority of the Humberside outfit to tie down a player of Snodgrass' quality as soon as possible.
"That will be taken care of in due course," Phelan said ahead of Tuesday night's EFL Cup quarter-final clash with Newcastle United.
"We will pay attention to that as he is an important football player.
"We will be dealing with that pretty shortly."
Winger Snodgrass, 29, has scored five goals in all competitions for the Tigers this season.
