Hull City are continuing talks with central defender Michael Turner over an extension to his present deal.

Turner has caught the eye since Hull's promotion to the top flight and, after being tipped for future England honours, Hull are keen to secure his services.

Tigers boss Phil Brown said: "We are very close to signing Michael to a two-year extension on his contract which will take us to 2013.

"I will be very pleased when he does put pen to paper."
