Hull City defender Paul McShane says their squad can sustain a successful campaign this season.
The Tigers won only one of their final eight matches which saw them drop from 12th to 16th but McShane is confident that won't be repeated this season.
"There was a bit of a blip towards the end of our season," McShane told the Hull Daily Mail.
"This squad is better equipped to deal with that dip this time around.
"I think some players had one eye on the cup final. Maybe that was an excuse but we shouldn't let that happen again.
"It was similar to our promotion from the Championship when we fell over the line in the end.
"We hope we can push on this season by hopefully repeating the start we made and finish off strongly."
