Hull City defender Anthony Gardner must drop his demands if he wants a move to Crystal Palace.
The former Tottenham centre-half has been told to lower his wage demands by Crystal Palace.
The Eagles want to sign the free-agent defender, 30, who they had on loan from Hull last season.
Boss Dougie Freedman said: "We have a strict wage cap and it doesn't matter who it is, we won't go over it.
"We offered him what we'll go up to."
