Hull defender Faye: I deserve my place

Hull City defender Abdoulaye Faye is proud of his place in manager Steve Bruce's plans.

Faye has been a surprise starter for Bruce this season.

"Some people are surprised I am starting, but I know my body and know myself," the former Senegal international told the Hull Daily Mail.

"Last year, I had a good season and I am very proud the gaffer has given me confidence by playing me.

"I didn't get a chance at West Ham (in the Premier League) and I am very proud to have one here. I feel I deserved it here, though, and I have to keep going to stay in the side.

"I am fit and I am working hard every day.

"With my body and health, I don't look like 35, it's more like 25.

"I don't go out a lot, I eat good food and just stay at home and look after my family. This is my secret."
