Hull City defender Curtis Davies says he would understand if Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney decided to move to the Chinese Super League.

Rooney is being linked with a move to China this week.

"I guess he would like to stay at Man Utd and prolong his legacy," Davies told Sky Sports.

"But when you get to the stage he has got to - he is England's and Man Utd's record goalscorer now - if he wanted a new challenge then you would not blame him.

"And when they are talking about the money that is being offered, even for a man of Wayne Rooney's wealth, I am sure it would slightly turn his head."
