Hull City defender James Chester has enjoyed forming his partnership with Curtis Davies.
Davies arrived in the summer from Birmingham City.
"Curtis has been a good signing. You can tell the people who the gaffer has brought in have played at this level before. His communication has been really helpful for me, when you've got people running in behind you, that's what you need," Chester told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The gaffer's brought in quality but he's also brought in people who have fitted in well. There's a real excitement around the place and a real belief we can be successful."
