Hull City are locked in talks with Tottenham for defender Michael Dawson.
The Hull Daily Mail says a new central defender has been a priority and Dawson continues to be the preferred option for manager Steve Bruce.
Tottenham appear willing to cash in on their 30-year-old captain as he enters the final 12 months of his deal and talks over a £4m switch are thought to have encouraged City.
Then would come the task of convincing Dawson to follow in the footsteps of elder brother Andy with a move to City and officials at the KC accept there's work still to be done.
