Hull City have confirmed that they have made an offer to keep Stephen Quinn.

With Quinn's current deal at Hull set to soon expire, Championship club Reading have placed an offer on the table to try and nick the midfielder from the KC Stadium.

However, Hull are optimistic of keeping hold of Quinn and manager Steve Bruce has revealed that the Tigers have their fingers crossed that the Republic of Ireland international will accept their offer and not tat of the Royals.

"We're still talking with Stephen after he was away on internationals and hopefully we can get something done soon," said Bruce.

"Stephen is another player we want to keep. We've made an offer."
