Hull City are confident of not losing Steve Bruce to Southampton.
The Hull Daily Mail says Bruce's impressive exploits at the Tigers have seen him feature highly on a six-man shortlist drawn up by the Saints as they bid to fill the void left by Mauricio Pochettino's switch to Tottenham.
But Tigers owner Assem Allam is adamant his manager will not be allowed to leave.
Having handed Bruce complete autonomy in his role at the KC, with full responsibility for all transfer targets and future planning, Allam is confident that Bruce views the Tigers as a long-term project.
