Hull City managed to overcome a defiant Beijing Guoan outfit to reach the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy.

The Tigers won 5-4 on penalties at the Workers' Stadium after the full-time score was 1-1 and will meet Tottenham Hotspur (who defeated West Ham 1-0) in the final.

Geovanni put the visitors in front early in the piece before Cameroon defender William Paul Modibo levelled not long after the second half commenced.

There were some shaky moments for Hull late in the game but they managed to hold sway and turn their fortunes around in the penalty shoot-out to go through to Friday's final.
