Hull chairman Pearson has Jewell, Pearce on manager shortlist

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has a shortlist of manager's names in the event Iain Dowie fails to keep the club up.

The People says Paul Jewell is the name at the top of Pearson's list.

They worked together at Derby and have a great mutual admiration. The former Wigan chief could be tempted out of semiretirement in the right circumstances.

England under-21 boss Stuart Pearce was asked if he wanted to come to the KC Stadium last week but declined because he is part of Fabio Capello's World Cup backroom team.

However Pearce may be open to a return to club football in the summer.

The dark horse is Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll who could be ready to move to a bigger club after working wonders at the Keepmoat Stadium.
