Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has rubbished talk of Phil Brown moving to Sunderland.

He declared: "If people said I was going to marry Elle MacPherson - who is involved among my wildest dreams - would it mean it was going to happen?

"Of course not but there is more chance of that happening than of Phil becoming Sunderland manager.

"We were even having lunch together on Thursday when someone phoned me to claim they knew Phil was in Sunderland.

"I told them that was strange - as I was looking at him!"
