Hull City captain Michael Dawson says victory in the EFL Cup against Bristol City can reignite their season.
Mike Phelan takes his struggling side to Ashton Gate on a run of five straight league defeats and with just one point from their last seven games.
Dawson said: “We said it in the dressing room straight away after the game on Saturday – we can't have any sulking and we have to stick together.
“We have to go again. When you're on a run like we're on, it's hard and confidence suffers.
“But we know there is only one way to get it back and that is by winning football matches together as a group.
“We have to get back to how we played in the opening weeks of the season. The team and performances that we saw in those opening games is well capable of staying in this league and that is our aim.
“All we can do now is go again on Tuesday night against Bristol City in the cup and try to get back to winning ways."
