Hull captain Davies: I call Sagbo 'Le Boeuf'

Hull City defender Curtis Davies is convinced Yannick Sagbo will prove himself Premier League class.

Sagbo celebrated his first goal for the Tigers at Everton on Saturday, finishing smartly in the 2-1 loss at Goodison Park.

Tigers captain Davies told the Hull Daily Mail: "Yannick's an ox, I call him 'Le Boeuf'.

"Other than in pre-season, people haven't really seen a lot of him, but we know he's got quality. He's a targetman but he's also got an incredible touch. He can link the play and get in behind.

"He's an exciting prospect and even more so because people don't really know a lot about him. That can be in our favour. It'll take time to adapt fully, mainly because he hasn't played many games, but I believe he's ready.

"He managed to get himself a goal at Everton and played well. The more he plays, the better he'll become. He might get a run of games now and I'm sure he'll want to show what we've been missing."
