Hull captain Davies happy for Jakupovic over Liverpool cleansheet

Hull City captain Curtis Davies hailed goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic after their 0-0 draw at Liverpool.

Jakupovic is regarded as third-choice at the Tigers.

"It's his first Premier League start (of the season) and on the back of coming on as a sub against Arsenal he did well. I thought he was brilliant," Davies told the Hull Daily Mail.

"He only plays in the big games! He's played at Old Trafford, the Emirates and Anfield now so he's certainly picked them.

"As always with a goalkeeper it's a position you need to ease yourself in and he kept it simple. He made a couple of good saves and the main thing from a point of view as a defender is that he was vocal.

"That's what you need when you are a back four, or back five, is a keeper talking all the time. It makes your job easier and he produced a quality performance for someone who hasn't played that much."
