Hull City skipper Curtis Davies is bewildered over his role in a publicised love deception.
He responded on Twitter after 24-year-old Josie Cunningham claimed a con man had posed as the Premier League star to trick her into bed.
She alleged she slept with the imposter for more than a year before discovering the truth.
Davies, now with Hull City, tweeted: "I'm not going to give a non-story legs by commenting.
"I will say I'm disappointed the way the press went about it.
"My life goes on as normal."
