Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says he never had a chance at his old club.
Hull City manager Pearson, 47, has kept quiet since his Walkers walk-out. But now he has launched a stinging blast at the Leicester hierarchy.
He said: "The irony of the recent managerial situation at my previous club does not escape me.
"I resigned to come to Hull and I am pleased to be here and working for people who want me to be here.
"When your successor sees both the play-off games at the end of the season and, apparently, is the first-choice of the incoming consortium, you don't need a rocket scientist to find out what the process was.
"Ultimately, I resigned. But it was based on criteria which made me believe I was not wanted any longer."
Hull's other Pearson - Head of Football Operations Adam - said: "He will want to show them what they are missing and that he is doing as good a job with us as he was with them."
