Hull boss cools Mills, Johnson interest

Hull boss Phil Brown has played down his interest in Manchester City fullback Danny Mills and Derby's Michael Johnson.

"I've got two possible centre-halves on the go at this present time and if I'm successful then we'll improve the capabilities of the squad," Brown told the Daily Mail.

"I spoke with Michael Johnson and Danny Mills and one of the main reasons I spoke to them was because they were available.

"I'm conscious of the fact that if I was to bring in two more 30-plus players in then all of a sudden we might get an ageing squad tag - that's not something I want here.

"I would like to bring in a 23-year-old with experience and that's what I'm aiming for."
