Hull boss Bruce: Wembley experience no good unless you win

Hull City boss Steve Bruce admits their trip to Wembley will be worth nothing if they lose their FA Cup semi with Sheffield United.

The Geordie has plenty of Wembley experience thanks to his time as Manchester United captain.

"It is a huge, fantastic place and getting there is always a highlight for any footballer. It certainly was at the old Wembley," said Bruce to the Hull Daily Mail.

"For whatever reason, it seems to have lost a bit. But, back in the day, going up the old Wembley Way and the Twin Towers coming into view was fabulous. That is why I said what I did earlier this season when I said we could smell the hot dogs. It's that sort of place, nowhere quite like it.

"That walk as a supporter must be great. I did it recently at the Emirates. Big occasion, big ground and the anticipation as you got closer was great.

"The one thing is you have to try and enjoy it if you possibly can. Take it in and try to remember things because, before you know it, the day will be over and that's that.

"As a player, you have to relish that occasion but to enjoy it you really have to win. Nothing else will do."
