Hull boss Bruce shocked by Pulis Palace exit

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is shocked by Tony Pulis' departure from Crystal Palace.

Former Palace manager Bruce knows it's a hard job to keep the relationship strong with a club's chairman or owner and believes Pulis had to leave now rather than leaving it longer.

"It's a really, really difficult job that we all face," said Bruce.

"If that relationship is not good then it's a really, really difficult job.

"It's hard enough, and from the outside it looks to be a breakdown in communication between the two of them.

"It has been felt that Tony feels it's best they part company now rather than wait.

"I think that's the problem that, we as managers, chief executives and owners, the turnover and turn around of young managers in the game and experienced ones like Tony, it's a very difficult job if you're not getting on in that relationship.

"That is huge."
