Hull City boss Steve Bruce has dismissed comments from Crystal Palace counterpart Tony Pulis over his big spending.

Bruce denied a claim by Pulis that signing Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long 'guaranteed' survival.

"I think maybe Tony is playing politics to see if he can get one or two in," Bruce said. "There is no doubt about it, they will give us an advantage where we didn't have it before."
