Hull City boss Steve Bruce is prepared to release Matty Fryatt for loan.
Fryatt faces competition from George Boyd, Yannick Sagbo and Nick Proschwitz and Danny Graham at the Tigers and he is still trying to recover from a serious Achilles injury picked up last season.
"I've had the conversation with Matty and the thing I said to him is that he's been out for a year,' said Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail.
"We've got six games in 11 weeks so if there's a chance for him to get out playing then I'm not going to stand in his way.
"With Forest I'm not sure what the situation was. They wanted to take him on loan but I don't think Matty was keen to go there on loan.
"For one reason or another it didn't happen so we'll wait and see what happens over the next 10 days or so. Barnsley have also made an enquiry (yesterday) but I can't see that one happening."
