Hull boss Bruce: I would love to get chance to manage Man Utd or Man City

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has expressed his desire to manage one of the big boys of the Premier League.

Bruce, who led Hull City straight back to England's top flight via their play-off win over Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend, is still unsure about his future with the Tigers amid the ongoing takeover talks of the club.

Regarding his future in management, Bruce admits he does not know what will happen at the KC Stadium but does know that he would love to be given the chance to one day take charge of one of the top clubs in the competition such as Manchester United or Manchester City who have both appointed new bosses ahead of next season.

"We'll probably get Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola in our first game next season. We had Jose's return three years ago, a small little club taking on the giants of the game," the former United star said.

"I'd love to be given the chance to manage the clubs they've managed instead of going to war with a pop gun occasionally.

"But there's a glass ceiling, of course there is. There are very, very good managers out there but it still gets harder every year.

"It's a shame now because the big jobs now seem to go to the foreign managers. We always dream of a big job but whether you are just classed as, 'Oh he's okay, he can get a team out of the Championship and scrap away in the Premier League'. That's on my CV, isn't it?

"I would like to think that everywhere I've been, when I've left, I've left them in a better state than when I took over."
