Hull boss Bruce on Huddlestone: I've NEVER seen better individual performance

Hull City boss Steve Bruce says Tom Huddlestone's performance against Fulham was the best he's seen in the game.

Bruce, a former Manchester United captain and title winner, was full of praise for the midfield schemer.

"I have been around a long time as player and manager I don't think I have witnessed as good an individual performance and I know that is quite a thing I am saying.

"He did the lot. He was absolutely brilliant from passing one-twos, tackling, shooting, hitting free-kicks from 40 yards, 60 yard passes. I turned to Steve Agnew after he hit one pass and said 'what about this fella?'

"I don't think I have seen a group of lads stand up and applaud a team-mate like they did when he came in. It was quite fitting and deserved. He gave an absolute masterclass.

"You need help and signing of him and Jake Livermore gave everyone here a lift. I never had any doubts. Everyone in the game knows the big doubt was his ankle but he has come here and never missed a game.

"Signing him gave the intent to the city and the whole club which they needed. It surprised a lot of people and I am delighted we've got him.

"Roy Hodgson is a wonderfully gifted manager which is why he has the job. But it will be hot in Brazil, you need people who can technically take the ball. It won't be fast and furious and it is going to be not like the usual way England play. We will have to play at a certain tempo because of the heat and Tom is ideal for it. There is always a surprise but it would not surprise me if he went because there are not many producing as well as he is."
