Hull boss Bruce happy to avoid Fergie wrath in new book

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has no problem not being mentioned in former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography.

Bruce reckons he got away unscathed in Ferguson's controversial book because his old manager at Manchester United had "forgotten him".

"It's that long ago, he probably forgot about me," Bruce told TalkSport. "I haven't read it, but it seems I've come out unscathed. I think we're all intrigued by how he's managed it for 26-27 years with all the egos and great players he's had."

Commenting on the controversies around Steven Gerrard and Roy Keane, Bruce said he was sure Sir Alex would have been determined the book was a best-seller. "It's not a book (worth reading) if you can'nae get your teeth into it," he said. "The one thing he preached in the dressing room always was that we were a team and nobody would break into that team, but as managers we've all had fall-outs with players."
