Hull City boss Steve Bruce is delighted with the early impact of Curtis Davies.
Just three months after his summer arrival from Birmingham City in a £2.25m deal, Davies is now wearing the captain's armband.
"Curtis had been the captain of Birmingham for a few years so I knew the added responsibility wouldn't weigh him down," said Bruce.
"That's why I leaned towards the experience of Curtis, even though he's only been here for three months. He's a natural leader and that comes from within.
"Curtis has earned the respect of his team-mates straight away. He's a smashing lad, a good pro and a winner."
