Hull City boss Steve Bruce is in the market for a new striker signing in January.

The Hull Daily Mail says Bruce scouted Olympiacos striker Konstantinos Mitroglou in a Champions League game last month. However, the Tigers are unlikely to pursue the 25-year-old Greece international, with the asking price too steep.

West Bromwich Albion's Shane Long is another under consideration after coming close to joining Tigers in the summer, but Bruce knows he will face competition from around the Premier League if the Baggies fail to agree upon the new long-term deal currently being discussed. Both Newcastle and Stoke are understood to have a keen interest in Long's future.
