Hull City boss Steve Bruce has convinced James Chester to stay at the KC.
Chester had become a £3million target for Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert and Newcastle United chief Alan Pardew after rejecting two new contract offers from the Tigers.
But the former Manchester United defender, 24, will now sign a four-year deal after agreeing terms with the Premier League new-boys.
A Hull source told The Sun: "We have found a middle ground and this is a big boost for us."
