Hull City boss Steve Bruce is battling to strike terms with Norwich City for Robert Snodgrass.
The People says Bruce is ready to splash out £5million plus bonuses for Snodgrass.
The 26-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the Canaries, but they are still demanding £6.5m from the Tigers for the winger.
Norwich want as much cash up front as possible for Snodgrass to fund a new bid for Blackburn's prolific striker Jordan Rhodes - the No.1 target of Carrow Road manager Neil Adams.
