Hull City boss Phil Brown won't be rushed into offering Sam Ricketts a new contract, despite the interest of Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth.
"Talks for a new deal are ongoing," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"At the start of the pre-season I said that after 10 games I would assess the situation because I'm not going to throw away contracts willy nilly.
"If after 10 games he has reached the level of performance that was similar to that at Bolton last year, then he's in charge and I'm willing to take that chance."
