Hull City boss Phil Brown says he isn't surprised by their impressive start to the season.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "Maybe a few people within the club are surprised, I'm not sure, but I don't get that feeling from any of my backroom staff.

"I don't get that from the majority of the players but I don't honestly know, you'd have to ask each and every individual.

"In my opinion, given lots of variables you can measure in the 18 months I've been here, we know we're making progress.

"Everyone who has come into the squad personnel-wise has improved what we've got and everyone is looking around and relishing the challenge that's in front of them."
