Hull City boss Phil Brown admits he was hurt when Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell chose to join Tottenham over the Tigers on transfer deadline day.

"It was a dent in the confidence to a certain extent as we were willing to pay a king's ransom, especially having given him the opportunity to show what we could do when he was with us last season," he told the Metro.

"But that's football.

"We were able to go out and sign Daniel Cousin from Rangers after that anyway."
