Hull boss Brown to make check on Cardiff pair Ledley, McCormack

Hull City boss Phil Brown is stepping up his bid for Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley.

The Hull Daily Mail says the 22-year-old Wales international stands at the top of Phil Brown's summer wish-list, along with Cardiff team-mate Ross McCormack.

Brown is expected to take the chance to watch both players when the Bluebirds open their new stadium against Celtic tonight.

It is understood his focus will be primarily on Ledley and a £4m bid is expected to kick-start City's pursuit in earnest this week.

The versatile midfielder has now entered the final year of his contract and unlikely to sign a new deal, Cardiff have privately resigned themselves to losing their star-man.
