Hull boss Brown happy with point

Hull opened the scoring through Daniel Cousin before the visitors Manchester City scored twice only for ex-City player Geovanni to restore parity. Phil Brown admitted it was good to end a run of three successive league defeats: "They were disappointed to be down at half-time. "They were low on confidence but shouldn't have been."

"Confidence in the team seemed to sap when they got their equaliser and the second half called for a rally on our part.

"And they came out of the traps in the second half and carried out to the letter all we had talked about at the break."

Brown continued: "We have a lot of quality in the side.

"It was a sterling performance from us and I was proud of us in the second half. We had the desire to get something from the game and we could have got three points in the end.

"But I'm pleased with the one in the end and ending the run of three games without a win, although I wouldn't describe it as stopping a rot by any means.

"Two of those games were against opposition we weren't expected to get anything against.

"You get confidence from a variety of sources, including a draw against top-class opposition."
