Hull City boss Phil Brown hopes to field new signing Kamil Zayatte, the former Young Boys defender, against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "He was with Everton first and then Newcastle in the same week and we were fortunate enough to get hold of him.

"It was interesting that we could compete with clubs like Everton and Newcastle, that's great news for us.

"But it's not just competing in the transfer market that we need. We need to be competing on the field.

"I would have no qualms about playing him but it will depend on his fitness."
