Hull City boss Phil Brown was thrilled with Geovanni's goal scoring debut in yesterday's 2-1 victory over Fulham.

"He (Geovanni) gives us something that we perhaps didn't have last season - a little bit of quality in the middle," Brown said. "He didn't really get a fair crack of the whip at Manchester City last season, and I couldn't believe it when he became available.

"At times in the first half we were on the back foot, and their goal knocked the stuffing out of us.

"We were chasing shadows for 15 minutes after that, and if they had got a second it probably would have been game over.

"But goals change games, and Geovanni got it."
