Hull City boss Phil Brown has confirmed talks with Morecambe assistant coach Mark Lillis about a move to the Premiership new-boys.

He told BBC Radio Humberside: "Mark's been one of the ones we've interviewed. We've done all the business the right way. I've spoken to Sammy McIlroy and we've talked to Morecambe at boardroom level.

"Mark's come over with their permission and we've spoken to him.

"It's an interesting position. It's one where you have to have the insight of the technical side of things from the kids point of view but also the ambition to push yourself and these players on to first-team level."
