Hull City boss Nick Barmby has told Cameron Stewart he's good enough to play for England.
Scotland boss Craig Levein is tracking Stewart, whose mother was born north of the border.
He has already played for England Under-20s, and Barmby said: "As an Englishman, I'd love to see him in the white shirt of my country.
"He is a great lad who will become a top, top player."But Hull chief Barmby, who won 23 caps as an England midfielder, insists for Manchester United striker Stewart, 20, should plan for a future with the Three Lions.
