The Sun says Hull's hopes of landing Liverpool whizkid Ayala hinge on offloading Jimmy Bullard.
The cash-strapped Tigers want to sign centre-half Ayala, 19, on a season-long loan. But they first need to get £5million record-buy Bullard, who is their top earner on £45,000-a-week, off their wage bill.
