The Football Association confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that they have received statements from Arsenal over the spitting allegations made by Hull City. The FA would not disclose how many statements had been supplied by the club, but it is certain to include a version of events from captain Cesc Fabregas, denying the allegation.

The FA spokesman told the Mail no timescale had been placed on when a decision will be announced.
