The Premier League is facing the prospect of having an extended season for the first time in its history.
As per the rules, Hull City and Swansea would require playing a relegation playoff at a neutral venue if they finish the season with equal points, goal difference and goals scored.
The Tigers currently occupy the 17th spot, two points ahead of 18th-placed Swansea. Both sides also have comparable goal differences with Swansea at -29 and Hull at -31.
