Hughton: World Cup opportunity can inspire Norwich squad

Norwich City boss Chris Hughton feels the incentive of an England World Cup place next summer can inspire his squad for the rest of the campaign. Keeper John Ruddy was the only Norwich player in Roy Hodgson's England squad last week but Hughton cited Gary Hooper and Nathan Redmond as two names that he believes should be out to impress.

"It's an exciting prospect for England that they have now qualified and it's up to every player to do well enough in a season," Hughton said.

"They have a season of opportunity to force their way into the reckoning. It's a really good opportunity for everybody.

"Unfortunately for us Gary got injured the week before the season started. But he's now back fit.

"At this moment for Nathan it's him concentrating on being a regular member of the Under 21s."
