Brighton manager Chris Hughton was delighted with his side's effort despite losing to Southampton in the Carabao Cup Second Round.
Hughton fielded many youngsters, as he gave players a break who played in the Premier League at the weekend.
Southampton had a more experienced team, controlled the game and eventually got a 1-0 win. But Hughton was very proud of his younger boys.
The Seagulls boss said to The Argus: "Overall I'm delighted with what the players gave. I was disappointed we conceded late. Southampton showed they've got more depth in the squad than we've got at the moment with no real injuries.
"I'm delighted with the way the youngsters played, because it was a big test for them."
