Newcastle United caretaker coach Chris Hughton insists all scouting and transfer plans are being made by manager Joe Kinnear.

"Things like contracts and signings - that is very much Joe's department," said Hughton. "The only thing that I was involved in - and that was part of working with Joe - I did help with transfers," Hughton told The Journal.

"But Joe will make the decision on players that will come in, the players that we would chase in the window.

"Joe would discuss it with me and I was aware of it, but it was Joe's decision and I see that being very much the case from the end of the season. He will make the decisions."
