Chris Hughton is well aware of the quality that Danny Ings brings to the Southampton team.
Brighton are facing a tough test against the Saints this weekend.
The game is already billed a six pointer, given both teams could be near the drop zone in May. And Ings will be a key threat for Southampton, especially after his impressive start to the season.
"What Danny brings is what we always knew he could. He's picked up a couple of big injuries, but there has never been any doubt about the ability that he's got," Hughton said to Sky Sports.
"Hence the reason why he went to Liverpool, hence the reason why at Liverpool they think so highly of him. For him it's about getting his career back on track.
"He has certainly started the season really well, and has started the season like a player who has missed games and is desperate to play. That makes him a very difficult opponent.
"He is benefitting from playing games, but I certainly believe if he was fit he would have played more games at Liverpool."
