Hughes spent almost £250M at Man City in 18 months

Mark Hughes managed to spend almost £250 million in transfers during his time in charge of Manchester City.

Hughes succeeded Sven Goran Eriksson when he became Manchester City manager on 4 June 2008.

He spent £243.5m on 19 players during his 18 months at Eastlands, more than half of them costing over £10m:
