Hughes says Fulham playing smarter away from home

Aaron Hughes says Fulham are getting stronger away from home.

Hughes felt Fulham deserved all three points at Wigan Athletic last weekend.

"I thought we should have got more out of the game on Saturday," Hughes told fulhamfc.com. "We worked hard, battled hard and had control for most of the game.

"We were disappointed by the goal but we kept battling and kept our heads. We could have actually come away with a win after being one-nil down.

"The thought, 'is it going to be one of those days,' crosses your mind, but to be fair, everyone kept digging in and working until the end.

"Once we got the goal back we had to be a little bit more sensible - having got back into the game we didn't want to throw it away. I wouldn't say we eased off but we were more sensible."
