Hughes ready to bomb Elano out of Man City

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is ready to bomb out Elano after a furious bust-up with the Brazil midfielder.

The Daily Star says Hughes axed £8m signing Elano from the side that lost 2-1 at West Brom on Sunday and all the indications are that he will now be sold in next month's transfer window.

A club insider revealed that heated words were exchanged between Hughes and Elano after the manager criticised the player's lacklustre performance in last Thursday's UEFA Cup defeat in Santander.

It resulted in a bust-up when they met after training on Saturday and Hughes finally ran out of patience with Sven Goran Eriksson's summer 2007 signing.

According to insiders, Elano didn't seem to be all that interested in the training session and hardly pulled up any trees.

Hughes then left him out of the squad that travelled to West Brom and it is now looking increasingly likely that he will be on his way out.
